New Contributors To Be Announced / Put A Sock In It, Noodles!

Some longtime RBDers were bemoaning the closing of the blog, so I said I’d reopen it but ONLY if I had some help. At least two new contributors will be announced next week. I’ve told the new writers that they can post about anything – donkeys, actual books, Wooville, getting fingerbanged at Balthazar, the home we once shared at tumblr, etc.

As for Nisha Moodley, who’s currently lazing in Bali, she’s coming out of the closet. Such vulnerability! SO BRAVE!

I hear that it’s #nationalcomingoutday. As a cis woman whose longest term relationships have been with cis men (in mostly monogamish relationships), I never felt the need to come out. But reckoning with my sexuality has been another thing…
.
I never felt that being pansexual “counted” unless I was in a long-term monogamous relationship with someone other than a cis man. But my identity isn’t defined by society’s perceptions of me.
.
The truth is that I’m attracted to and have dated and played with humans of many expressions. I’ve been in monogamous and poly relationships.
.
And I’m good with that.
.
It took some time for me to remember-forget-remember again that I’m not just into “masculine men”… and I find it sad that so much of the personal growth industry pushes the narrative that women need to “be in their feminine” and “attract a man in his masculine”. I’ve 100% played into this at times (mostly when I forgot the multifaceted nature of me). My attraction, expression, and sexuality are mine. Yours are yours. And I’ll honor it all with every part of me.
.
And while I cheerfully celebrate all the flavors of sexual and gender expression, I am aware that we have a lot of work to do to make this world a safe place for folks for whom this is not so easy.
.
Because honestly, it’s relatively easy for me to share all of this with you. My friends and family love and accept me. I come from liberal western Canada and live in liberal California. I am at peace with who I am. I won’t lose my livelihood by sharing this. I am cis and currently present as straight. Etc…
.
So this work of making a safer and more loving world for Queer people — especially the most marginalized — this is OUR work. There are things we can all do today and every day.
.
I love you.
🌈
p.s. If you ever get the chance to bathe in flowers, take it🌺

SO PROUD that you present as a straight woman, Noodles, but keep your goddamn cultural appropriation off the internets. You’re about as pansexual as Judy is bikissable. Ugh.

  1. Quickly, because I’m doing 5000 things this weekend, the reddit site is up and running and I don’t see why we can’t have two places to donkey dance! The more the merrier!

  2. Oh!

The (Internet) home *WE* shared is back!

    Can’t wait for the announcements.

    • No love for Nisha, Wolf? I’m still processing WTF bathing in flowers has to do with supporting the LGBT community.

      • bathing in flowers seems like such a hassle to me. wouldn’t you have to shower afterwards to get rid of adhering petals, stamens and pollen?

also, too many of those things and you’d need to keep your plumber on speed-dial to clear the clogs.

      Press releases!

  3. Insta update: tacky Donkey hick, who never reads here or the reddit site, removed the name of the hotel in Ibiza where the wedding took place.

Maybe it was us, maybe the newlyweds made their displeasure known, maybe Dodi told her to stop being such a greedy Donkey and that whatever “special treatment” she got for her mention wasn’t worth alienating *his* friends.

    #cheapdonkey

  4. Noodle’s current IG story features a Balinese dancer which made me say to myself, “Well, at least she isn’t trying to dance along or copy her moves like a common LaFraud or Donkey.” Until the next frame…which features Noodles dancing along like some sort of Indonesian Bamboozled.

P.S. I’m glad you’re back Auntie G and welcome new contributors.
    PPS. Donkey

It never fails to amaze just how much these demented creatures actually believe that anyone cares about their banal naval gazing

Just not in the way they intended
        winky emoticon

  6. Hello, fellow sort of sad adults! I love the Reddit, too, but we have pictures and archives here. It’s like having a home AND an OMG DOWNTOWN CONDO now!

So the latest attempts to shut us down actually means there’s more Donk Debunking on the interwebz.

I don’t know much about Reddit, but is that the kind of thing where other users can stumble across our humble group and learn about the horror known as Donkey?

      • Not only did those attempts turn into TWO sites, we will now be defacing every picture so as not to infringe on copyright.

        GO DONKEY!! THIS IS SUCCESS!!

  7. Thank Greg for this most joyous news! I had just about eaten my through Dr. Gary’s supply cabinet of Percocet sammies.

  8. From her Linkedin, noted in brief in the sub-basement, Momsers effort to help land an OMG Dr.
Now you basement dwellers know the real reason why SHE did not publish BOOK

“As a media strategist, activist and advisor, Julia teaches how to harness the power of both mainstream and social media to create a healthier, more regenerative planet. She advises startups, B-corps, visionaries, scientists, artists, entrepreneurs and philanthropists on how to shape their stories and their media presence to get their messaging – and their solutions – out to the world at large.

Beginning her career as a journalist, commentator and tv host, Julia made over 1,000 tv appearances on nearly every network, including CNN, MTV, ABC, NBC, CBS, Fox and E! She graced the cover of both Time Out New York and WIRED, and has written for The New York Times, Newsweek, ELLE, New York Magazine, and The Guardian, as well as penning an internationally syndicated technology column for Tribune Media.

As a speaker, Julia has given talks at MIT, Wharton, Harvard, and at numerous conferences around the world about media, innovation, entrepreneurship, transformational culture, creativity and happiness. She has emceed myriad events, from festivals and charity auctions to conferences and summits.

As an entrepreneur, she was funded at age 27 by a VC from Sequoia to found a social media agency startup that specialized in marketing of young talent, for which her team won a Webby. She’s also served as a spokesperson / ambassador for more traditional companies such as Sony, Intel, Cisco, RadioShack & Unilever.

She is an angel investor in the technology startup Andela, the media startup Brit + Co., and an advisor to several startups, including the global leadership organization Hive and the biotech company Neurohacker.

After a decade of forging a more “traditional” media career path, in 2012 she got fed up, sent herself to an ashram, and embarked upon an extensive series of over 250 transformational experiments – from Native American sweat lodges to ecstatic dance to transcendental meditation to ayahuasca with a shaman in Peru – for a book she sold to St. Martin’s Press called “Experiments in Happiness.” When the book was due, she still didn’t know have the solution for happiness, so she didn’t publish it.

Julia was raised on the North Shore of Chicago, and has lived in New York, LA, San Francisco, and Washington, DC, where she worked on Capitol Hill. She graduated from Georgetown University in 2004.

After living in Bali for the past year, Julia moved back to SF in November 2018 to support the founding of a 501c3 organization. Her life mission is to be an exuberant force for positive transformation, creating a world of harmony and love that honors all beings.”

I thought she turned in a manu(re)script of illiterate gibberish.

      Angel investor? Too fucking funny!

    • “so SHE didn’t publish it”? BWA HA HA! Try running that horseshit by St. Martin’s. As everyone but Dr. Dodi knows, though he’s probably learning, she never follows through on anything. St. Martin’s gave Donk extension after extension before she turned in a pile of manure and was forced to pay back her advance.

      • “so she didn’t publish it” may be my favorite Donkey rationalization EVAH. Glad we’re back, Aunt Gilly, new contributors, and all you sad sort of angry catladies. I clicked today half hoping there might be something on the site, and it feels like Christmas.

        • Glad that we made you feel like it’s Christmas, Dyspeptic! One of the new contributors just sent me an email and she’s got some great ideas, is learning WP, which is VERY user friendly. If your tech challenged aunt Gilly can do it …

          • Not to worry. The new contributors are both longtimers and don’t use non-stop profanity.

    • I don’t know have the solution for happiness either, Judy. 🤷🏻‍♀️

    • Founding a 501c3? Is that a typo? Shouldn’t it say draining Dodi’s 401k?

  9. Have to add the rest, got to give credit for the expert job in making a decade of no job look presentable.
    “ideating” in Bali, lmao

More like: “Got a book deal to write “Experiments in Crappiness,” a book about trying to make my navel-gazing drug-induced revelations sound profound and the Bay Area drifter-grifter crowd who don’t bathe, but do fuck everyone in sight and do lots of hallucinogenics.”

    • Spent a year “ideating” and working on The Reimagine Factory, er, Foundation? Her coffee cup website that never was? This BS resume just gets funnier and funnier. I suppose the 501c3 refers to the Downwards Spiral org that fell through when she couldn’t get anyone to work for free.

Also love that she’s billing herself as an advisor to pusher Daniel Schmactenberger(sp?).

      • That 501c3 was probably just a ruse so that she could claim a tax deduction on her perpetual vacations.

        • OMG, you’re probs right, THE REIMAGINE FACTORY is already dissolved!
          According to CA state records:

          https://imgur.com/zD4N5Vb

Petey will spare no expense to try to spare no expense in the end.

          • It is confusing, she has the Novato address for incorporating, but NoPa stall for a record, no irs or AG in Ca only SOS, and dissolved in 12/17/2017-does not comport with her timeline, as usual. Maybe there was yet another entity created for all the shenanigans.

          • The record does not comport with her LinkedIn timeline at all!

A non-profit organization devoted to catalyzing a global movement of love and kindness.

A global movement of love and kindness? WTF does that even mean? AND NOTHING became of this folly, which anyone with a good search engine could find out. What a gregdamn fraud.

        • Here is the link to the CA SOS entity records:
          https://businesssearch.sos.ca.gov/CBS/SearchResults?filing=&SearchType=CORP&SearchCriteria=reimagine+factory

If you click on the corporation’s name it will take you to links to pdfs of the docs on file. It wasn’t even in existence for a year. The formation filing does not indicate it is a non-profit, so her reference to the 501c3 must be to a different (and equally successful! and sure to be as long-lived!) entity set up by A Donkey.

          • The 501c3 would be in reference to the Upward Spiral Foundation that she supposedly started with a woman in tech and which quickly went nowhere, as is Donk’s wont.

      • snort-laugh at the angel investing thing. is this why rain’s missing $4K was so long held up? i guess dirtfest dj dancing was only a hobby on the side?

julia, investors expect a return on investment. andela was founded in 2014 – how many times have you been to new york in the past five years to see how your investment is growing?

also: social-media startup? give me a friggin’ break.

we know julia’s linkedin profile is a long word-salad to make herself sound windswept, interesting, and busy to make herself sound impressive to alex’s peers, but those of us who have worked in startupland know how effing hard it really is.

    • I cannot get past the word “Ideating”. It bangs me in the face like a rake left haphazardly on the lawn. I’m bruised, I’m bleeding, and I think I chipped a tooth. Is it a word mash-up of “idea” and “eating”? Are they asking us to eat and digest our ideas? Make poop?

      • it is actually a real word.

ideate (v): form a mental image of something that is not present or is not the case.

like having a job or purpose in life, perhaps?

        • I’ve noticed the annoying term pop up in a few annoying books by annoying Silicon Valley types. The horror: Judy has probably read a couple of those books, right after she finished the annotated volumes of Anthony Trollope.

  10. Halp! Can someone direct me to the reddit? I don’t want to be left behind!

  11. I, for one, missed this place terribly. Not ashamed to admit it. So very happy to be baaaack! *happy kitteh dance a la R4 wedding fancy dance, aka all class* Oh, who am I kidding? I’m Elaine ugly dancing.

    • I was a little bereft. This is the only place on the internet I’ve ever commented, save for a handful of times on the old Gawker. You are my people! This is my groovy pad!

      • Me too! Which is one of the reasons that I ended up a mod here.

Gosh, Gawker was grand fun during the Donkey daze.

      • Same. I was inordinately proud of getting out of the grays because of a Queen reference.

  12. Xmas has come early! Aunt Gilly and her bag of gifts pulled by a new bobsled of truehearted Catladies! I feel five again, watching all the twinklies. You are my joy like cheese is to my comfort

  13. The Texas conference for women is next week and I was looking at the list of speakers and was surprised to see Amber rae listed.

    • She seems to get a lot of gigs. Unlike A Donkey, she finished her BOOK!

How can Judy think that opening and closing a do-nothing “foundation” within fifteen months is something you actually WANT on your CV?

      • She’s got TWO do-nothing foundations, one after the other, on that souped up CV!

  14. Remember when Donkers started that go fund me for Tragic Johnson?
She would blow that all out of proportion and claim 501(c)(3) status.

Doodi is a literal shit-for-brains if he does not demand proof of certain claims she makes, in addition to not demanding a prenup should he insist on trotting her down the bridle path too, despite numerous red flags.

Greg damn, I am so happy to see the basement back in business! 😻

    • He’s referring to members of her smelly tribe as “wellness experts,” so I’m ready to go with shit for brains.
